Conclusions "The timeless games"
Our only 2024 Erasmus + training course was intended to focus on the power of games. We believe they are key for any education but above all for non formal one. We play to have fun but also to create a better society, to improve our skilss, to be healthy, to try things we are scared of and to get our creativity in action. Playing is the answer to most of challenges we face as kids and this ability and perspective should not be lost as we grow up.
From the 1st till the 8th of august 18 youngsters from Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Macedonia, Czech Republic and Spain have been working together in Sojuela, La Rioja to explore on the one hand, the capacity traditional games have shaping our collective psyche and on the other hand, the resources strategic games, scape rooms and simulations can have in order to teach complex topics in a kinesthetic manner.
Mixing a lot of cocreation activities, co-design methods and intergenerational cooperation we have dedicated this inspiring week to play a lot and to elaborate new games. As a result, a brief toolkit with useful games than can be used with groups of youngsters can be found attach to be used in any moment where non formal education might be needed.
